How far along? 30 weeks 6 days

Baby: The baby is measuring about 17 inches long now and weighs almost 3 pounds (the size of a large cabbage or butternut squash). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will shrink as she gets bigger and takes up more room in the uterus. Eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after baby girl is born, she will keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When the baby does open them, she will respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means Oreo can only make out objects a few inches from her face.

                     30 week bump!

Total Weight Gain: I've gained 14 lbs. so far (120). The baby is still measuring on the small side (24th percentile), so it's not a shock that I'm not huge. I'm really trying to make sure everything I eat counts towards a healthy and nutritious diet for the baby. The doctor recommended that I increase my protein intake (which I'm not the best about) to help with the baby's growth. So that's my goal for the next 2 weeks until my next doctors appointment -- lots of protein and water! I've continued to be pretty active getting the house in order and chasing after Grayson. I'm going to have to make a big effort to "rest" because life with a toddler is opposite of restful! We've also been taking short walks around our neighborhood which has been really nice.

Maternity Clothes: My belly has definitely grown -- it can be a little frustrating finding things that fit well, but I have my few staple maternity items that I'm liking. I have a great pair of maternity shorts, some comfy maternity shirts, and a few good tank tops.

Stretch Marks: I'm still applying stretch mark cream 2 times a day and I don't see any stretch marks as of yet. I ran out of the Palmer's stretch mark lotion and bought a thicker Palmer's stretch mark cream this week which I like a little better. In my head, the thicker the better it works!
Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty terribly at night. I wake up 2-3 times each night and am up for the day before Grayson gets up sometimes. I also struggle to get comfortable a lot more. I have been napping more this week which helps balance out the bad nights of sleep. I think I'm also still adjusting to living in a new house and all the changes...doesn't make for the best night's rest!

                 30 week ultrasound!

Miss Anything? I've felt great for the most part, so no complaints there. All the complications I've had this pregnancy make me long for the day our sweet girl is here safe and healthy. I cannot wait to hold her and be able to breathe that first sigh of relief in literally 9 months. It's going to be an amazing day! If anything, I mostly just miss my body being able to do whatever I want it to and not having to worry about making sure I eat the right things, my thyroid levels are okay, I'm gaining enough weight, the baby is healthy and growing properly, etc. Growing a baby is hard work and the added stress can be a lot sometimes.

Best Moment of the Week: I got all of baby girl's newborn and 0-3 months clothes ready this week...that was so much fun and so exciting! I can't believe she's going to be here and wearing them soon! I also ordered my new diaper bag for both my kiddos to use and am very excited to get it in the mail. Baby prep is in full force! I had a pretty good doctor's appointment on Friday. The baby's belly growth is still lagging, but overall she is still growing and appearing healthy. She is measuring in the 24th percentile for weight, but she gained 11 oz. in the past 2 weeks and was up to 2 lbs. 14 oz.! Almost at the 3 lb. mark! I go back to the specialist again in 2 weeks, so that they can continue to monitor her growth. Every week that goes by at this point is a blessing and a praise. She's developing more and more, so the longer she stays in there, the better! :)

Movement: She has days and times of the day where she is super active and other times where she is more still. I can tell she is getting bigger because she moves a little less, but her movements are strong and powerful. She's head down (yay!), so I feel her kicking me and shaking her little booty a lot. She is still way more active than Grayson was and I feel her all the time while I'm up and moving around. She's quite the active little girl!

Food Cravings: I have been eating pretty healthy these days in attempt to make sure the baby is getting healthy calories that count instead of empty calories. I still love my coffee and went on a cookie craze one day this week (I basically made a batch of cookies and ate them all myself -- oops!). I'm also still loving salads and veggies with ranch. I'm trying up increase my protein intake, so I'll be eating more chicken, beef, Greek yogurt, string cheese, eggs and even trying Ensure. I already eat Greek yogurt and string cheese often.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope.

Gender: GIRL!

Symptoms: Braxton Hicks, easily dehydrated, my back and round ligament muscles hurt if I'm extra active and extra tired lately.

Happy or moody: Stressed! Now that the house is put back together from our move, I'm ready to start preparing for baby girl's arrival. So much to do! Thankfully, she's the second child, so we already have a lot of what we need. But I just want everything to be perfect for her arrival.

Looking forward to: 4th of July celebrations in Lizella and getting more baby stuff ordered and put together!
